Settings you can check, not just copy.
Every laser maker publishes settings for its own machines, in its own units. BEAM SETTINGS puts them side by side, says where each number comes from, and shows the math to move a setting from one machine to another.
Where every number comes from
Settings online rarely say whether they were tested, guessed or copied. We label each value with one of four sources.
Maker
Published by the laser or material maker for a named machine. Linked to the original page.
Software default
Shipped in the machine’s own software or material library, noted with the software version.
Community reports
Reported by owners in forums. Shown with the number of matching reports, never as a single anonymous value.
Calculated
Converted from another machine with the formula shown, so you can check it yourself.
Tools and guides
Laser power & speed converter
Move a cut or engrave setting to a different wattage by matching energy per mm (J/mm) or per mm². Handles %, S-values, mm/s, mm/min and IPM.
Materials, with safety first
About 40 materials, each opening with what not to laser (PVC, faux leather and other materials that release harmful fumes).
What each laser type can and cannot do
Diode, CO2 and fiber compared by wavelength: clear and white acrylic, glass, stone and bare metal.
Machine pages
Popular diode and CO2 machines with their published settings, units and limits in one place.
