About BEAM SETTINGS
BEAM SETTINGS is run from Osaka, Japan, by an engineer who has spent years working with cutting conditions — feeds, speeds and tool wear — in metal machining.
Why this site exists
Laser settings online are scattered across maker blogs, software libraries and forum threads, each in its own units: mm/s, mm/min, percent, S-values or inches per minute. Most do not say whether a number was tested, copied or guessed. We collect them, convert the units, and label where every value comes from.
What we have not done (yet)
We do not run our own laser test bench yet. Numbers on this site come from makers, software and owner reports, each labelled with its source, or are calculated with the formula shown. When we add our own test grids, they will be marked as such.
How we label numbers
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Maker | Published by the laser or material maker for a named machine, with a link. |
| Software default | From the machine’s own software or material library, with the version. |
| Community reports | From owner reports in forums, with the number of matching reports. |
| Calculated | Converted from another machine with the formula shown. |

We may earn a commission when you buy through some links (see privacy & disclosure). Commissions do not decide which settings we publish or how we label them.
Spotted a wrong number? Tell us and we will check it against the source.
