TwoTrees machines on sale now

TwoTrees sells ten diode laser engravers on its own store: the TS1 Mini and enclosed TS5 rotary engraver, the TTS Pro open frames, and the larger TS2 series with autofocus or a 20/40 W power switch. Below, each card shows the number in the name against the laser power TwoTrees states, the work area, the spot and the power draw, from TwoTrees’ product pages.

Settings

Settings the maker publishes

These are the maker’s own starting points. Results change with the machine, the material and the focus, so test on scrap first. “Convert” opens the converter with that setting filled in, so you can scale it to your laser’s power. Engraving rows without a line interval convert as line energy (J/mm), which gives the same answer as long as you keep your line interval.

What to check before you buy

  1. “Laser power” is not always measured light. TwoTrees’ product pages say “Laser power” without saying optical; its buying guides call the figures optical. Its own material test list rates the TTS-55 module at 5.5 W and lists 4.98 W tested, about 9 % lower. Use the lower figure when you convert settings.
  2. Same page, different speeds. The TTS-20 Pro page gives 30,000 mm/min in its spec table and 10,000 mm/min in its comparison table; the TTS-55 Pro page does the same. Until you know which is right for your unit, set the maximum speed in LightBurn or LaserGRBL to the lower figure.
  3. Cut claims come without conditions. TwoTrees claims 20 mm in one pass for both the 20 W TS2-20W Max (pine) and the 40 W TS2-40W (basswood plywood), with no speed or air-assist setting. Treat them as best cases, and start from a published setting such as the table above.
  4. A shield on the module is not a pair of goggles. The TTS-10 Pro page says its built-in eye shield removes the need for safety goggles, while TwoTrees’ own wiki tells beginners to wear protective glasses near the machine. On an open frame, light scattered from the work can still leave the shield. Check goggles against the 450 nm band with our safety glasses checker.
  5. Where it ships. The TS2-20W Max and TS2-40W Max ship to the United States only. The TS2-40W page says US only in its title and Europe and America in its notice.

To move a setting between machines, use the power & speed converter; to compare optical power with other brands, see the real laser power table.

FAQ

Is the TwoTrees TS2-40W really a 40 W laser?
TwoTrees sells it as a 40 W laser head with a one-click 20 W / 40 W switch. The product page calls it “laser power”, TwoTrees’ buying guide calls the TS2 range optical, and the page does not say whether the 40 W is one diode or several combined. The 178 W on the comparison table is the machine’s electrical power, not the laser.
Which TwoTrees laser has the largest work area?
The TS2-20W Max and TS2-40W Max, at 450 × 900 mm. Both ship to the United States only. The TTS Pro machines can reach 600 × 600 mm with TwoTrees’ extension kit.
Does TwoTrees publish laser settings?
One material test list on its store, in mm/min and power %. Its columns are older modules (TT-25, TT-50, TT-5.5S/TTS-55 and the discontinued TS3); only the TTS-55 column relates to a current machine. It gives no line interval. TwoTrees’ blog adds general ranges that are not tied to a model.
Can a TwoTrees laser engrave stainless steel?
The test list gives a surface mark on stainless steel for the TTS-55 module at 1,500 mm/min and 100 % power. That is marking, not cutting: blue diode lasers do not cut steel. For deep metal marking, a fiber laser is the usual tool.
