AtomStack laser engravers, number by number

12 lasers on AtomStack’s US store, from a 3.5 W Swift Mini to the 120 W water-cooled Glacier — with what each watt figure means, the beds drawn to scale and AtomStack’s own settings.

Lineup

AtomStack machines on sale now

AtomStack sells twelve laser machines on its US store: open-frame diode lasers from 3.5 W to the 120 W water-cooled Glacier, two enclosed desktop machines (P1 and the Class 1 Atelier), a handheld dual-laser M4 Pro and a 20 W fiber marker. Each card sets the number in the name against the output AtomStack states, with the work area, spot, power draw and AtomStack’s own cut claims.

Settings

Settings the maker publishes

These are the maker’s own starting points. Results change with the machine, the material and the focus, so test on scrap first. “Convert” opens the converter with that setting filled in, so you can scale it to your laser’s power. Engraving rows without a line interval convert as line energy (J/mm), which gives the same answer as long as you keep your line interval.

What to check before you buy

  1. Plan from the settings table, not the headline cut. The A70 Max page claims 25–28 mm of wood in one pass, its spec card 25 mm and AtomStack’s comparison data 30 mm. AtomStack’s own settings table cuts 15 mm basswood, 18 mm paulownia or 20 mm pine in one pass and needs 10 passes for 25 mm pine. The A40 Pro V2 and A20 Pro V2 show the same gap.
  2. Which number is the light. The A10 Pro V2 and A20 Pro V2 pages separate output (10 W, 20 W) from input (50 W, 120 W), and the fiber A20 Pro says “optical power” outright. The A70 Max page gives “Laser Module Output Power 70-77W” without the word optical; the sold-out X70 Max still carries its 360 W input in the URL. For the Glacier, AtomStack’s blog calls every power step true optical output.
  3. Skip the rows that look like typos. In AtomStack’s settings data, the A40 Pro V2 LightBurn cutting rows hold S-values such as 800 where a percentage belongs, and the A20 Pro V2 has a 20 mm paulownia cut at 20,000 mm/min. We left those rows out of the table above. AtomStack also notes that power % is relative to each machine.
  4. Open frames are Class 4. AtomStack’s A24 PRO-series manual calls the machine a Class 4 laser product, and its safety blog says most open-frame diode machines are Class 4. Only the Atelier is stated as Class 1; the P1 is enclosed but its page gives no class number. Wear goggles rated for 455 nm around any open frame — check yours with the safety glasses checker.
  5. Kraft, Kraft Lite and Hurricane are sold elsewhere. atomstack.com still lists the enclosed Kraft and Kraft Lite diode machines and the Hurricane 55 W CO2, but on 2026-10-27 none could be bought there: the pages send US buyers to atomstack.us, a separate store run by MakerMondo in Houston. They are left off this page.

To move a setting between machines, use the power & speed converter; to compare optical power with other brands, see the real laser power table.

FAQ

Is the AtomStack A70 Max a 70 W or a 360 W laser?
AtomStack sells the A70 Max as a 70 W / 35 W switchable diode laser and states “Laser Module Output Power 70-77W, 35-39W”, which by diode convention is the light. 360 W is the electrical input printed on the older X70 Max, now sold out. The A70 Max page does not state its input power.
How thick can the A70 Max cut in one pass?
It depends on which AtomStack page you read. The product page says 25–28 mm of wood. AtomStack’s own settings table cuts 15 mm basswood at 300 mm/min, 18 mm paulownia at 350 mm/min and 20 mm pine at 120 mm/min in one pass at 90 %, and uses 10 passes for 25 mm pine and 26 mm acrylic.
Which AtomStack lasers are enclosed?
On the US store, the P1 / P1 Dual (110 × 110 mm, with door and tilt detection) and the Atelier (120 × 120 mm galvo, stated as Class 1). The enclosed Kraft, Kraft Lite and Hurricane are listed on atomstack.com but were sold only through the separate atomstack.us store on 2026-10-27. The A70 Max and Glacier can be bundled with the B4 enclosure.
Does AtomStack publish laser settings?
Yes. Its Material Setting page has LightBurn and LaserGRBL tables for the A70 Max, A40 Pro V2, A24 Pro, A20 Pro V2, A10 Pro V2, P1, Kraft and Hurricane, with speed in mm/min, power, passes and line interval. There is no table for the Atelier, Swift, Glacier or M4 Pro, and a few rows contain obvious errors.
